L4859 of 59 Squadron was lost on 15 May 1940. It has been written that it 'crashed' and was coded 'TR-W'. However I have seen no photos to prove this and I do not know the source for the code. One of the crew was killed and two became POWs.
There is an AIR 81 casualty file for this loss but it will be several months before I can obtain a copy. That might reveal more.
If 'TR-X' turns out to be L4859 that will be a very valuable clarification to 59 Squadron losses.

Martin.
Hi MArtin,

check this link - there are another 2 photos of same plane:

http://www.modelari.org/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=551

I post the photo, and I see (not on 100%), that last digit is probably 59 ....this is only photos of TR machines, which looks fine and not after crash or belly - landing.

Maybe somebody have better photo and can confirm the serial number of this plane.
