One possibility is a very early Whitley loss:

15/16-10-1939
No.77 Sqn.
Whitley III K8947:KN-Q (not O, as in BCL1)
Op: Nickel.

Failed to return from Frankfurt. Reputedly shot down by A/A near Darmstadt, Germany.
