I am looking for additional information about my grandfather, Werner Johann Schmitz:

DOB: 12.08.1910 in Bochum
Wehrnummer: 9/253/10/31/17
Rank: Oberfeldwebel

He was assigned to the 10.Staffel (IV. Ergänzungsgruppe) of the KG 30 at Ludwigslust, Germany until his accident on 26.03.1941 in the area of Grabow, Germany.

Based on his documents he started his pilot training in 1938 and was pretty much in training until his accident. Before that he was a “Bordmechaniker” / flight engineer.
