JGr. Süd, West and Ost
Gentlmen,
I have conflicting information concerning the responsibility of the Staffeln of the JGr. Süd, Ost and West in 1944, that is up until early November when they were amalgamated into EJG1; could anybody enlighten me and correct / amend the following list which apllies to the first five months of 1944:
1./JGr.Süd JG77 1./JGr.West JG2 1./JGr.Ost JG51
2./JGr.Süd JG27 2./JG.West JG26 2./JGr.Ost JG52
3./JGr.Süd JG53 3./JGr.West JG1 3./JGr.Ost JG54
4./JGr.Süd JG11?? 4./JGr.West JG1/11 4./JGr.Ost JG3
So which Staffel was responsible for JG4 and 5 during this period?
I know that in connection with the formation of JGr. 200 in late May 1944 JGr.Süd and West swapped two Staffeln each; did this lead to changes in the resonsibility for the following months and if so which changes?
I have seen Carlsen/Meyer, Flugzeugführerausbildung, and the table on p 146, acc. to which in the second half of 1944 four Staffeln were said to have been responsible for JG 3 alone - 1./Süd, 1./Ost as well as 1. and 2./Ost - whereas other JGs apparently had no Ergänzungsstaffeln left, so that this doen't really offer convincing help. Furthermore, JGr.Nord, which according to said table was said to have been responsible for JGs 51, 52, 54 and Sturmjagd from 1942 to 1944 was only formed in early August 1944.
Any founded input would be gratefully appreciated.
