..you are not comparing like with like...how many "idle" days were there during the BoB, due to weather, distances, high altitude, no clearly defined front lines....see page 39 of JfV Teil 4/I Einsatz am Kanal..

ie, during this period the German fighter pilot flew on average around 50 combat sorties and (
only !) encountered the enemy on around 20 occasions..
