Hi,

I may be wrong as I still haven't completed my 111 database but I don't think that the WNr relates to the aircraft directly.

The first line is the manufacturer and the component part no, in this case the rudder trim tab; Kiel is the place of manufacture and production date is October 1942.

The last detail I have on the aircraft 2883 is that it was a P-2 converted to P-4, with 2./KG55, which failed to return from an Ostfront sortie on 26 July 1941, all crew reported missing. However, I stress that I have not finished going through all my loss and manufacturer records so it could be that the aircraft was recovered and returned to action at a later date!
