From 1945 newspapers it transpires that the plane was found by a "native" in a mountainous area in June 1942. A joint US-Soviet search party set out only to be prevented entry by "
hostile native tribes". After intervention by the Iran gov't, (the) bodies could be recovered and remains were buried at the scene at that time.
