Re: Bf109 Shot Down 9/10th July 1941

None of these losses figure in Foreman/Bock's Air-War 1941, the non-stop offensive Part 1.

It makes me again wonder how accurate their books written about the year 1941 actually are.

The loss you mention is included in your book of course, but without any WNr. However I found it, 3161, in Balss Deutsche Nachjagd. Since that book came out in 1997, it is even more strange that Foreman/Bock have failed to list it.

Beside the loss of Lent's Do 215 Foreman/Bock has managed to find a loss of a 4./NJG 1 aircraft, WNr 3353, which is not mentioned by Balss and oddly enough not by you either. It is stated to have been hit by return fire and force landed at Schiphol receiving some 15% damage in the whole process.
Somehow I get the feel this aircraft is in "exchange" of the WNr 3161.

Do you or anyone else care to make a comment on this, please?

Cheers
Stig
