The "US" info is coming from Joe Baugher website at http://www.joebaugher.com/usaf_serials/1941_3.html.
Here after is what is written on that page : 41-18271 (319th BG, 439th BS, "Millie's Blond Bomber") shot down by Lt Rupert Weninger in Bf 109G-6 of JG 53/3, 15 km E of Barsacco, Italy Sep 8, 1943.

So according to you, the French report could be right. Nice !

Best regards
Franck
No Franck

That is not what I am saying.

I have no idea from where Joe Baugher has got his details. It is not listed here:
https://www.aviationarchaeology.com/...y/Sep1943O.htm
Making a google search give nothing extra, except another site "confirm" its USAAF unit

What I am saying is that I have no confirmation this aircraft was transferred to France at all.

I will check a couple of loss lists I have for France and see if this serial number comes up.

Cheers
Stig
