Two things are correct in that headline, it was a rainy day the photo was taken and Spain did by Avro 504K postwar. However the picture does not show any of them.

I cannot see any reason for Martinsyde to send down a G.102 postwar to Spain. By 1919 the aircraft was certainly past its prime and why Spain should be interested in worn out second hand Elephants is beyond me. Spain bought only fighters (F.4 and F.6) from Martinsyde.

A1581 is known to have been issued to C Sqn of CFS by April 1917 and coded 11 at some point with that unit. I have no fate for it but it is doubtful it lingered on until 1919. Too many ham fisted pilots around if you ask me....
