Attack by No.160 Sqn 1 Oct 1942
Hi,
Following information comes from ORB of 160 Sqn, Form 540:
1.10.42
'Evening, 8 Liberators detailed to attack convoy north of Derna (32° 46" N - 22° 39" E.) all located target 33° 49" N - 23° 40" E. One tanker, One M/V, 3 Destroyers, Near misses possible direct on M/V. 3 ME. 110s and one Ju88 intercepted. One ME110 destroyed – seen to hit sea. One ME110 probable – last seen going down apparently out of control with much smoke from port
engine. JU88 claimed possible. Last seen going down with much smoke from port engine.' (from http://www.rquirk.com/160.html)
My question is which air gunners/crews/aircraft made these claims? I found no information about this in Form 541.
