S/Sgt Peder Heller 93rd BG 1916-1996
I am trying to find out more information on S/Sgt Peder Heller, S/n unknown. Recently, there was a book of local (Northern Santa Barbara City/San Luis Obispo)WWII personalities printed One of the stories is of S/Sgt Peder Heller, who flew 86 combat missions and survived three crashes (including one ditching) in which the rest of the crew was KIA. To date, I have not been able to find any more information on his combat record. He was born in North Dakota on Dec 30,1916 of Norwegian parents and lived for many years in Arroyo Grande, Ca, where he ran a boat shop.
According to the information on line, he belonged to the 93rd BG, 409, BS and served on the B-24 "Teggie Ann". According to information on the Web, this B-24D, s/n 41-23754, was renamed " little Lady" and was interned in Turkey after Tidal Wave. He ,Sgt. Peder Heller, was not on Tidal Wave.
