Loss of He111 of 7/KG27 on 7th May 1941
A He111 of 7/KG27 marked IG+DR was shot down on night of 7th May 1941 by John Cunningham in a Beaufighter from 604 Sqn, which being directed by Sopley GCI, while King George VI was visiting and who apparently saw some of the action when he was invited to go outside!

Can anyone confirm what mission this He111 of 7/KG27 may have been on?

I presume that as it crashed at West Zoyland that the aircraft had been heading for somewhere like Bristol.
