I think these units (and many more) operated in the Smolensk area in those months. Plus VVS DD long-range units, like 16 GvAP DD, IL-4s. (IL-4, S/N: 5143915 was lost at Smolensk-E on August 22/23, 1943 to flak, etc.)

323 IAD (484, 518 IAP) - Yaks
231 ShAD (568, 570, 873, 946 ShAP) - IL-2m3
215 IAD (263, 813 иап) La-5

etc.
