Re: eBay: Allied intrest

Hello all,

This photo (#2, 7-1-2021) appears on page 232 of 'THE BATTLE OF FRANCE, THEN AND NOW' by Peter Cornwell. He identifies it as L9459 of 53 Squadron, lost on 11 May 1940 when it was forced-landed near Borlez in Belgium. The aircraft letter appears to me to be 'G', not 'C', but it is difficult to tell which.

I don't believe it is a 248 Squadron loss in Norway, partly because of the background. Also based on Ross McNeill's 'RAF COASTAL COMMAND LOSSES, 1939-1941' all three mentioned by Andy appear to have crashed in the sea.

Regards,

Martin Gleeson.
