Oberleutnant Arnold Brinkmann scored six confirmed victories during August 1944 (Boiten).

Apparently the Luftwaffe Officer career summaries by Henry L. deZeng IV and Douglas G. Stankey show some confounding, unfortunately:

BRINKMANN, Arnold. (DOB: 10.06.15 or 29.03.15). 01.12.41 promo to Oblt. 26.11.43 Oblt., in Stab I./NJG 3. 16/17.12.43 Oblt., Stab I./NJG 3. 22/23.03.44 Oblt., Stab I./NJG 3. 23/24.04.44 with 8./NJG 3. 12/13.08.44 Oblt., 8./NJG 3. 01.10.44 promo to Hptm. 15.10.44 Oblt., 8./NJG 3. 12/13.01.45 Hptm., 8./NJG 3. Credited with 16 victories.

BRINKMANN, Fritz. 12.11.43 Oblt., I./NJG 3. 21.03.44 Oblt., Techn.Offz. of I./JG 302 WIA - shot down by a long range night fighter vic Neuburg, wounded in right hand and left foot - hospitalized - Bf 109 G-6. 12.03.45 Hptm., 8./NJG 3. Believed to have survived the war. Credited with 16 victories.

Boiten gives Fritz Brinkmann as serving with I./JG 301 during July 1944.

Kind regards,

Timon
