The Millie G - how many?

All

How many Millie Gs were there? I corresponded way back in 2002 with the late General. He mentioned that he had 8 MGs (4 x P-38 and 4 x P-51). I have found seven – 2 x P-38 and 5 x P-51 as follows:

- P-38H CY-G Giller Maj. Edward B The Millie G

- P-38J CY-G Giller Maj. Edward B The Millie G

- P-51D CY-G, 44-15701, Giller Maj. Edward B The Millie G. Engine seized, A/C abandoned near Bruges, pilot Frank E Birtciel baled out safely, returned to duty (RTD). 3-Apr-45.

- P-51D CY-G, 44-14985, Giller Maj. Edward B The Millie G. Lost 22 March 45. F/O George Nastanovich POW

- P-51D CY-G, 44-72123, Giller Maj. Edward B The Millie G

- P-51D CY-G, 44-73204, Giller Maj. Edward B The Millie G

- P-51D CY-G, 44-63204, Giller Maj. Edward B The Millie G. On 14 September 1945, P-51 44-63204, crashed on take off at Kaufbueren/R-70 (Germany) and sustained Cat 3 damage.

I am wondering if the last two are the same aircraft- seems a big coincidence one is 73 and one is 63 (204)?

Cheers
Dave
