Re: eBay: German intrest
Hi Stig
I have personally only seen this type of marking once before. I have images of Do 17 F-1 No.972, which I think is from 3./122 (stamps in the Bordfunker's Sports Book for August 1937 are for this Staffel). It crashed on 13 August 1937 due to an engine fire. This aircraft appears to carry no individual identification markings apart than a '972' across the Balkenkreuz. In the Bordfunker's Flugbuch he also refers to the aircraft as '972' and in the captions on the photos he has also written '972'.
The aircraft is pretty messed up and other markings may be there but just not visible, but I don't think so.
