Dittlmann

On 23 February 1944, Oberfeldwebel Heinrich Dittlmann (57 victories, DK, killed in flying accident) of 7./JG 51 collided with Oberfeldwebel Otto Würfel (79 victories, RK, missing in action 23 February 1944) of 8./JG 51 in aerial combat northwest of Rogatschew or Polatsk in Belarus. I know that Würfel was flying Fw 190 A-5 “Black 4” (W.Nr. 0152 599) although some sources state it was a Bf 109 G-6 but nothing about Dittlmann's fighter. Would somebody have any information on his aircraft such as type, tactical code and werknummer? Also, would anybody know of a publication that has a photograph of this ace? Many thanks.

Horrido!

Leo
