No 501 Squadron, may 27th 1940.
Good afternoon,
According to AIR 35/252. 67 Wing Fighter Combat Report N° 1, 27/05/1940.
On this date at 13h55, No 501 Squadron met a formation of about
24 He111s escorted by about 20 Me110s near Neufchatel.
In the ensuing combat, No 501 Squadron pilots claimed 9 He111 destroyed, 2 possible and 1 Me110 damaged.
Could anyone let me know more about this Luftwaffe formation ( units, target and losses ).
