JG53 pilots 26 December 1944.

Following on from an old post of mine....

Oblt Adolf Gerecke, staka 16. IV/JG 53. Gerecke does not appear to have made any claims with JG53 but perhaps with another Geschwader? His position as staka would indicate some fighter enperience.

Oblt Leo Ludorf 6.II/JG 53. Ludorf was an ex-flight mechanic and appears to have flown as an instructor before joining JG53 in 1944. He was possibly shot down by a P-47, as was gruppenkommandeur Julius Meimberg.

Both were KIA on 26 December 1944.

Does anyone know if either of these pilots claimed any aerial victories in WW2.

Also Gefr Adolf Meermann 6.II/JG 53 KIA Wimsheim. Gefr Heinz Ruland WIA 8.II/JG 53 Flacht. I assume both these pilots were new to JG53 and inexperienced, and these also fell to P-47s.

regards

Keith
