Re: 13 squadron pilots and aircrew names needed 1940
I have changed my mind 99% sure he was Reginald Maurice Peter Jenkyns
23/3/40 ORB
P/Officers Keeble, McCartney-Jones, Jenkins were posted this Squadron for flying duties
Keeble and McCartney-Jones are
Peter Langley Keeble 76585 P/O 24.12.39
Christopher Cecil McCartney-Jones 76590 P/O 24.12.39
So Jenkins
Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.
GENERAL DUTIES BRANCH.
The undermentioned are granted commissions for the duration of hostilities in the
ranks and on the dates stated: —
Pilot Officers on probation.
1st Dec. 1939.
(Seniority 6th Nov. 1939.)
24th Dec. 1939.
Sergeants.
742680 Reginald Maurice Peter Jenkyns(76584)
741131 Peter Langley KEEBLE (76585)
741989 Christopher Cecil MCCARTHY-JONES (76590)
As both Keeble and MCCARTHY-JONES subsequently mentioned in ORB and Jenkins is not - maybe he was JENKYNS and posted out quite quickly
P/O R M P Jenkyns reported to 613 Sqn 18th April just as 613 Sqn B Flight transitioning to Lysanders at Odiham - So my take is he came from 13 Sqn as qualified Lysander and his name is typo in 13 Sqn ORB - If his service record was obtained it would confirm
