Re: He177 attacks Italy 26 November 1943

This is a tricky one. I am using "Pilotes Francais sur L'Afrique du Nord et La Corse", by the Decot brothers, which reprints the combat reports of several pilots who were engaged. Four bombers are claimed destroyed.

Ltt Raoul Rebiere claimed a Do217 destroyed and another probable, Ltt Roger Perrier claims a He177, Cne Michel Dorance (flying a Spitfire V) damaged a He177. Sgt Chef Leroy claimed another He177 destroyed, Ltt Madon damages two He177s (one shared with Ltt Simard) but mentions seeing what appears to be one of these fall into the sea. Other sources add several more claimants. There's no mention of Ltt Guy Bouchier but it's possible his report is missing. This site (among others)confirms the claim http://www.munier-pilote-1940.fr/AUTRES-PILOTES.htm

regards
