Nothing in the report indicates which combat on the 23 July that Astakhov was lost in the report.
Same can be said for Mladshiy Leytenant Veniamin Sokolov of 247 IAP killed in aerial combat in a Yak-1 in the area of Kuleshevka on the 24 July 1942. There is no combat journal for the 247 IAP on line to go into that closer.
