Too bad the aircrewremembered link you gave does not include the dates he was in each squadron. It appears his first assignment, 304 Sqn, was a bomber squadron flying Wellingtons.
I did find on this link:
http://www.polishsquadronsremembered.../317Story.html, that he was in the 317 squadron in August, 1944. I think that squadron was then operating as a fighter/bomber squadron.
