Pe-2 bombers of the 54 BAP (with attached Pe-2 from 779 BAP) led by Kapt. Kupyil bombed in the area of Kutnya - Davydovichi (18:24 - 18:27 (M) at 2000 m and encountered German AAA. As they began withdrawing 4 Fw 190 and 2 Bf 109 attacked. The Pe-2 (4/141) of 54 BAP flown by Ml. Lt. Igor Khanzhin was shot down by the AAA and crew was listed as MIA. The fighter escort of the 8 IAP were tangled up in a dogfight.
The other Soviet losses can by assigned as they were lost.
