Question Friedrich Eberle and his Bf109G-6

Hi! I'm trying to find out as much as possible about Friedrich Eberles Bf109G-6 in III./JG1. I know several things for fact that certainly points in the same direction but if someone could add anything to the puzzle I'd be very greatful.

I know for certain that:
  • Eberle flew a Bf109G-6 retrofitted with an Erla Canopy and an overpainted chevronmarking. The chevron was replaced with a "White 20" There's a picture showing everything from the numeral and forward in Mombeeks "Defenders of the Reich, Volume 3"
  • There's an authentic piece of guncamera film in the movie "Twelve O'clock High" that shows an aircraft that COULD be white 20 or white 23 - I've only seen three stills - and I think it has been claimed somewhere that this aircrat was flown by Eberle.
  • Eberle was shot down and wounded on January 30:th 1944
  • On that date Robert "Posty" Booth claimed a 109, and the desription of the guncamera film, which I haven't seen, could fit the one in "Twelve O'clock High...
Finally, the 109 in the guncamera stills clearly has a white tail, which Eberle's aircraft ought to have had. So as You can see, several facts points in the direction of Eberles "White 20" but I've got nothing conclusive. If anyone can shed some light on this I'd be extremely greatful! If my assumptions are right though, Eberle flew a particularly beautiful 109, which is also my main concern - I'm afraid that I just see what I want to see!

I bet someone here knows somehing though

Cheers and thanks in advance! / Anders
