Photos : high bids!

Did you guys notice some incredible bids in particular by a certain bidder? I remember one reaching 626 euros (add approx. 30 % to get $) - okay it was an ol' damaged, incomplete 262 in a forest but not really exciting. This bidder seems to pay any price for whatever picture is offered, or almost so. I suppose you did notice too.

So what's the matter? High bids were discussed before but they were by far not THAT high, maybe 60-110 euros at most. Is someone going berserk or is/are some seller(s) pushing the bids on their own photographs?

I know a picture is worth the price someone is prepared to pay for it - but does this someone really exist here?

For my part I would be prepared to pay almost any price - almost! - for a really significant picture OF ACCEPTABLE QUALITY, for ex. one showing Nowotny's 262 diving vertically into the ground (after all several thousand men saw it) or Galland baling out from his burning 109 on 21 June 1941, or shooting down his first E/A, or climbing into a 262 for the first time...

What is your opinion on such high bids - well over 100 and even several hundred euros/$? In particular, are they genuine considering the pictures involved?
