I am puzzled about this photograph.
FAA Aircraft 1939 to 1945 has photo on page 291 of an Avenger showing the starboard side coded "K-IB" ( so Port side would most likely be " IB-K" ).
Caption suggests the aircraft was with 756 Sqdn FAA at Katukurunda ( HMS Ukussa ), Ceylon.
However , other sources suggest the photo of "K-IB" shows an Avenger of 832 Sqdn FAA , on line there is a colour profile of "IB-K" (Port side), JZ512 which says the aircraft served with 832 Sqd FAA.
But I found that the code "IB" was used by 738 Sqdn while in the USA, an example is "IB-A", JZ183.
So is the photo of "IB-M" showing an aircraft of 738 Sqdn, 756 Sqdn or 832 Sqdn ???
Serial number could be an American number or in the "FN" or "JZ" range.Doubtful if the serial number of "IB-M" can be discovered

But it can just be made out in the photo to start with "FN.
Thanks
