Gentleman:

I understand that the RLM introduced the points system for fighter pilots (including 3/2/1 points for shoot-down/separation/final destruction of a four engine bomber) in mid 1943.

Did the points system formally remain in effect until the end of the war?

I have also read that the records of point awards were destroyed, so that no tabulation of points winners is available - is that correct?
