154th TRS in Italy, loss of P-38 17 Feb 1944
Hello all
On 17 February 1944 a 154 TRS P-38 left at 0609 on a weather recce, and failed to return, apparently pilot returned later after bailing out due to unknown cause engine fire;2/Lt John V. Eastman was the pilot. Squadron records state they had no operational losses in February just two engine fires, both pilots baling out. I know who the other one is, but does anyone have further info on this plane, pilot or circumstances?
