Re: Attack on german Vp-Boote on 6.10.1940 in North Sea

Hi Daruis,

The aircraft shot down was Hudson T9323 of No.220 Sqn.

Shot down by ship's flak off the coast of Denmark. The Hudson was seen to climb to nearly 2000 feet and fire to spread rapidly across the aircraft which at this point turned vertically over to port and then dived head first into the sea. A second later a red explosion was followed by a dense cloud of black smoke from where it disappeared. All are commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial.
