On 3 September 1941 Do 18G W.Nr. 898 8L+HL of 3./906 was shot down in the Norwegian Sea west of Narvik by aircraft from a Royal Navy carrier force. The
crew was all reported missing. Oblt. (M) Rudolf Müller (B), Ofw. Willi Hagen (F), Ofw. Herbert Bode (Bf), Uffz. Wilhelm Schmager (Bm).
