347th Fighter Squadron - P-39/P-400

Hi,

I’m looking for information on the aircraft allocated to the 347th Fighter Squadron of the 350th Fighter Group in late 1942. The Group was activated in October 1942 and used a mixture of P-39 and P-400 aircraft, and at least one Spitfire. I believe that some of the aircraft were ex RAF ones. In January of 1943 the Group was transferred to the 12th AF and flew to North Africa.
I am trying to fill in some gaps in the information held by the King’s Cliffe Airfield Museum. The 347th Fighter Squadron was based at King’s Cliffe from December 1942 until January 1943.

Thanks in advance,

Mike
