Enjoyed reading this thread. II/JG27 was one of four ME109 equipped units engaged on this date. It went into action with II/JG53 (according to Prien II/JG53 lost 10 aircraft on this mission), and I/JG5 and III/JG3 also suffered losses, all around the Strasbourg area. Would any of those be possibilities?
