OKL Reserve

Hello all,

In the so called 'tägliche Flugzeugzuweisungen an den Luftflotten' (daily allocations of aircraft) in the RL 2-III files, frequently aircraft were put in the OKL Reserve.

Is there any info about the locations of such stocks of reserve aircraft ? I could imagine that these planes stayed in remote (eastern?) parts of the Third Reich, trying to escape from allied bombings. In that case one would expect that the Soviet forces would have found large quantities of stored aircraft but I never have heard about such finds. I try to figure out how many Heinkel He219's were put aside as we still do miss the whereabouts of a He219 surplus that never reached the nightfighter unit(s).

Or were these confiscated later by Speer for recycled stocks of aluminium in order to expand the production of other aircraft ?

Any info about this is much appreciated ! Best regards,

Marcel
