We know that Grabmann was promoted and posted in August 1941.

Was there a connection with Major Walter Groth's posting, who was killed in an air accident on 13 August, when on his to Kirkenes to take command of Z-Staffel (or Stab/ZG76?

Cheers

I saw this old posting only recently. It seems you are referrikng to the german loss list, which is full of errors. Major Erich Groth and Bordfunker Hebert Muche left Stavanger on 12.08.1941 for Kirkenes with planned stop in Trodheim. Due to bad weather they crashed half way to Trondheim in the vally Fødalen in Buskerud. Their bodies and the wreck were not found until two years later.
The quartermaster has misspelled Groths first name, misspelled the plane as M8+TC instead of M8+KC and as a Bf 110 C instead of as E. Yhe crash site is as we know not Kirkenes, but was probably entered as the plane was supposed to end the flight there.
Much of the remnants ot the wtreck is still in Fødalen.
