Did you managed to derust (dérrouiller) that piece? It looks (for me at least) that there are other digits before the 3035 L....and yes, the L now makes sense as links for the Left landing gear, for example.
I have never seen on He 111 books, for instance, where to look for PLATES with the werknummer of the plane. Where to found those? How many the He 111 did have? Maybe the clues you are looking for are on the derusted plate and, additionally onto He 111 manuals and parts catalogs....
