B-17F 42-29776 (379BG) lost on Mission 115 to Schweinfurt Oct. 14 1943; MACR 1353 and Mission summary says collided head-on with a 109 though the 379th lead bombardier and the service record of radio operator on 776 (J M Ehrenzeller) say a 190. Amazingly a waist gunner survived as POW. The 379th lost 6 from 17 dispatched.
