I had also considered this possibility.* The one problem for me is that in Spitfires Over Malta*he is several times referred to as*Len*Webster which doesn't really follow if his first name is "Leslie."* I suppose it's possible that the author, Brian Cull, may have called him "Len" instead of "Les" in error.
