Pawel Burchard will become famous soon enough
He 177 Werk-Nr. range 3726xx

Does any information on this obscure Werk-Nr. range exist? Seems that at least some a/c from this range had distinctive MG 131 Zwillingsheckstand and according to Nick Beale (ghostbombers.com) and Manfred Griehl at least two were issued to Wekusta 2 (372629, 372628), and should be He 177 A-3 Rüstzustand C.

There are also known photographs from III./K.G. 1 with MG 131 Heckstand machines with abbreviated 26xx Werk-Nr. that could well be 3726xx range. By the way there are some stunning photos of one of them, 'Brunhilde', that some kind soul uploaded to commons.wikimedia.org.

Lastly, photograph of wrecked 372612 (?) at Brandis was posted few years ago on facebook.

Edit – RL 3/8327/0577 with mention of Werk-Nr. 372662

regards,
Pawel
