Re: Junkers W 34, Störkampfstaffeln, Nachtschlachtgruppen
Good evening,
the Junkers W 34 was built in quite large numbers but in WW2 operational service it was a rather rare bird. These are so far my suggestions for (notable) pilots of that plane: - Franz-Karl Theyerl (587 missions total) might have flown night assault missions in the W 34 but I didn't find positive evidence for that, yet. Does anybody know when he started his frontline service ?
- Herbert König (almost 500 front flights until June 1944) flew his supply flights during the Polish campaign in the W 34 and the Ju 52.
- Oskar Kräußel (at least 237 missions total) was photographed on a W 34.
- Heimo Emmerstorfer (at least 217 missions total) crashed a W 34 but that's not notable.
I'll keep at it !
Michael
