I had not seen the 55th Wing summaries.
If we assue the 82nd was wrong and only one aircraft went down over the target then the only issue remaining was who flew in what B-24 of the 485th that ditched? I shall see what I can glean from their records given it wont be the two we have already mentioned, which leaves two that did not return to base.
