Erich Hohagen 13 May 1944 victory nr 47.
Apparently Hohagen shot down Charles B Hall 727448 Pilot POW P-47 42-75437 (513rd FBS, 406th FBG)
Now i believe Hohagen was flying FW190 but from MACR 4962 Pg 8
"Two ME-109's attacked Lt C.B.Hall's flight at 12,000 feet coming in at 6 o'clock from high and out of the sun. The first one started firing on Lt Swanbery, approximately 2 seconds later the other started firing on Lt C.B.Hall. Lt Swanbery immediately Split S.His wing was on fire. On Lt Hall's ship the bullets were bouncing off the fuselage and canopy, pieces were flying off the ship. It was smoking as it rolled over and started down. I couldn't see when he bailed out. My flight followed the ME-109's down and we were bounced by 2 FW-190's."
3 eye witnesses saw the same with a parachute directly after attack.
I know in the stress of combat one can mix up a 109 with a 190 but 3?
The Bf109 from what unit? And if there were why claimed Hohagen? Did he shoot a vacated P-47?
Hall was captured on the ground by 5. Komp./ 2.Panzerarmee-Nachr.Regt, Feldpost Nr. 48736 (KUJ-1085 pg 2.)
