Hmmm, it looks like Chris beat me to the punch. Anyway, here goes:
As noted in the AMWIS of 24 Jun 44, page 18, "A standard overlap of 60 per cent is used and a constant speed of exposure."
I think that this method of photography provides the stereoscopic quality to the photos using a single camera. I mention this because the recce a/c with which I am most familiar, the Me 410, carried two cameras, but each of a different focal length.
