SM.79 loss January 10th 1941

According to R. Sturtivant's 'Aircraft of the Fleet Air Arm 1939-1945' on January 10th 1941 a pair of Fulmars of 806 Sqn (N1866 and N1884) based at Hal Far on Malta attacked some SM.79s and one force landed in a field on an island and was ground strafed by the Fulmars.
The pilot of N1886 was Graham Angus Hogg, and his entry in the book Aces High by Shores and Williams records that the incident took place "100 miles west of Malta" which could mean the island was Pantellaria?
Is there a recorded Italian SM.79 loss which ties in with this incident?
