Could it be that these air actions took place in Czechoslovakia or Hungary, as I remember reading somewhere that some Germans were still fighting in that area up to 13th May 1945. Perhaps there were a few aircraft left on that part of the Eastern front with the fuel to carry on, flown by die hards who, like some of the SS ground troops, refused to surrender.
I doubt that anything occurred on the Western Allies side as most German Army & Luftwaffe units were happy to be prisoners of the US & British forces rather than the Russians!
