9 Sqn Johnnie Walker Lancasters made to carry Tallboy?
Sirs,
were all Lancasters that took part in operation Paravane against Tirpitz actually converted to carry the Tallboy, or did the original Johnnie Walker Lancasters remain in the standard config?
A picture of the crash landed WS*D seems to indicate it did not have the altered bomb-doors.
I know at least one of 617 Sqn's Lancs took on board Johnnie Walkers but I suspect this one had the bigger doors since it took part in a Tallboy attack only weeks after Paravane.
