Re: Me262 claim for US a/c over Austria on 26th Nov 1944

I found nothing about the 26th November in the 4 volumes by Smith/Creek.
However, the Me 262 Combat Diary gives the names of the pilots of the Mosquito as Lieutenant Stoffberg and Flight Officer Andrews, who managed to force land at Fano.
There is a P-38 that was shot down by Major Sinner near Kitzbühl/Austria, about 60 km SW of Salzburg. That plane was piloted by Lieutenant Julius Thomas and was an escort out of 3 planes for an F-5 recce mission. Sinner took off and landed at Lechfeld.
Maybe that is the plane yo are looking for.
No further data are given in the book.
