Italian bombers from airports based in Rhodos island bombed several times
target in Palestina. In the book written by general Paolo Moci, who served with 41° Gruppo B.T. at Rhodos, this unit made the first day attack against Haifa oil storage center on july 15, 1940. Other attacks followed.
30° Stormo BT, operating from Rhodos since july 1942, made the first -nigth- attack against Haifa on september 3, 1942.
Other nigth attack followed against targets in Libano (Tripolis, Beirut) and in Haifa. On june 22, 1943 two CZ.1007bis of the 30° Stormo made a nigth attack against targets in the area Ghaza-Jaffa.
